Perkins Law Group is an Austin, Texas-based firm serving the needs of its clients in the corporate, regulatory, and defense arenas. The firm focuses on general business, litigation and regulatory matters, including contracts, insurance policies, mergers, acquisitions, reinsurance agreements, licensing, governance, compliance, administrative proceedings, coverage and claims advice, first and third-party litigation.
Our client base includes sellers and purchasers of insurance and insurance-related products and services, including policy-issuing companies, as well as all types of agencies, administrators, professional employer organizations, risk purchasing and retention groups, and premium finance companies. We represent businesses of many different types, including those whose only relationship to insurance is as a purchaser of products and services.
The firm’s founding member, Mike Perkins, J.D., C.P.A., handles matters encompassing all facets of state insurance regulation, from market conduct compliance and regulation of administrators, reinsurance intermediaries and insurance agents to insurance holding company systems regulation, regulation of captive insurers, and other types of insurance entities. He also serves as outside general counsel for several entities, delivering legal advice and service on insurance and other corporate, regulatory and governance issues.
Member Michael S. Wilson, J.D., M.P.Aff., is board certified in administrative law and provides enterprise-level advice, counsel and defense to property and casualty insurers and policyholders, on a wide range of operations, compliance, claims and litigation. He has practiced in insurance defense, civil courts and administrative proceedings for more than 27 years.
Member Adrienne Barclay has more than a decade of experience representing private insurers, quasi-governmental entities, and their policyholders in first and third party defense, including claims of catastrophic property damage, personal injury, contract and insurance code violations. She provides advice and counsel to senior management and claims staff on claim process, investigations, and insurance coverage.
